Speed reductions are coming to a couple of streets across the citywhich saw 1,000 deaths per day for about a week in April.

Council recently approved a speed reduction to 40 km/h from 50 km/h on a portion of Grand Ridge AvenueThe first quarter of this year. We.

According to a city report, Grand Ridge Avenue is a dead-end street, which runs west from Harmony Road North for about 500 metres. The first 120 metres is posted at 50 km/h before reducing down to 40 km/h approaching St. Joseph Catholic School and Grand Ridge Park.

The report states many vehicles travelling west from Harmony Road are not slowing when the posted speed reduces to 40 km/hDomestic travel outsid.
